s12 folks, read class blog!!!
i have lots to say but suddenly don't feel like saying it.
but.
i must say: i bought a really thick, hard-cover book (1111 pages) from carrefour at 8 bucks, cos they were having a clearance sale. i know it sounds like a bimbotic thing to do (all flat rate, so choose the thickest, heaviest book la!), but no okay, i read the first few pages and knew, it'd be a good book. always trust a woman's gut. haha. the book lost its book jacket, so there was no blurb, no graphics or critics' comments to sway the buyer's decision; instead, just a humble cobalt blue of a cover, with its title and author's name written in gold at the book's spine. the front is slightly dented, but oh heck, the rest of the book looks fine. and there's something mysterious about a book where you only know its title and the author, nothing else. inside the front and back covers are hand-drawn maps, and this is promising: it is an indication of a carefully planned plot, references to places you must keep in mind because out of nowhere the name of that place is going to appear again and catch you by surprise--hence justifying the need for a map. how splendid. of course, i'm swayed by the similar appearance of a map in The Shadow of the Wind, a marvellous book in my opinion.
so.
i'll get started on it soon.
but i seem to be busying myself with many things, some of which i promised to put to a stop so i can catch up on all the neglected books on my shelf waiting to be read. like television watching. bah.
okay gotta go. tmr need to wake up early ah.
